We couldn't think of a better way than to start this list off with one of the oldest and best protein bar brands around - Grande. Famous for their Carb Killa Protein Bar range, this Chocolate Chip Salted Caramel flavour is one of their latest releases and it does not disappoint. A salted caramel triple-layered, chocolate-covered protein bar. In our opinion this has to be one of the best Carb Killa bars yet.

2. Battle Snacks Battle Bites Glazed Sprinkled Donut
If you have not yet heard of Battle Snacks then you are missing out. They really have taken protein bars to the next level by creating flavours such as this glazed donut one. The new glazed sprinkled donut battle bites protein bar is made up of two delicious protein bites and yes it really does taste like a glazed donut! What sets Battle Snacks apart from a lot of the other brands is the soft bake texture of their bars. No more hard chewy protein bars, these bars are baked to give them an amazing texture.

That's right! In 2021 you can now get a Mars protein bar! Released by protein by mars, this had to be on our top 20 list. They do an original Mars protein bar as well but this salted caramel flavour has to be our favourite out of the two, it just tastes a bit more like the real thing.

4. Nano Ä Supps Double Chocolate Pancake
Ok... So it may not be a protein bar but it is a protein bar pancake and we couldn't miss this one off of our list. A protein pancake with a delicious chocolate filling hence the name 'double chocolate'. These are great high protein snacks and the whole protein pancake range from Nano Ä Supps really is amazing. It does literally taste like a pancake with a delicious filling! Which brings us onto the next one...

5. Nano Ä Supps Cookies & Cream Pancake
Another protein pancake from Nano Ä Supps. This one is very similar to the double chocolate flavour, but instead of a chocolate filling you get a creamy cookies & cream flavoured filling. If we had to pick between the two I think we would go for this one but we'll let you decid for yourself, either way you won't be disappointed!

Another popular brand - Fulfil. They have a great variety of bars and have recently improved the taste of their bars with new recipes. They were already great before but now they are even better! This chocolate brownie flavour has to be one of our favourites from their range of tasty protein bars.

6. Oatein Millionaire Crunch Salted Caramel
Think millionaire shortbread... well this in our opinion comes pretty close to it! The Oatein millionaire crunch bar salted caramel flavour protein bar is the perfect guilt-free, low-sugar, vegan delight! A protein square with a crumbly biscuit base, topped with a layer of caramel and then topped with chocolate. This is a great change from the normal protein bar.

This flavour in particular has a soft fudge brownie core hence the name. These are definitely one of the better bars on the market especially if you prefer a softer bar.

The cookies & cream flavour is widely used for protein bar flavour. It's a flavour that has been around for a while and there are a lot of great tasing ones but also a lot of bad tasting ones. This Barebells cookies & cream bar does not disappoint, with a cookie dough core which is then coated with chocolate. This is one of the great tasting cookies & cream flavours.

This white chocolate salted caramel flavour has to be our favourite from their range. A crispy based topped with a layer of caramel followed by a layer of white chocolate.

13. Grenade Reload Billionaire Shortbread
Another Grenade bar but this time it's an oat based bar. This tasty bar is presented in two 35g servings. Made with all-natural nut butters and wholegrain oats. A soft, chewy oat base, smothered in a layer of chocolate and then topped with chocolate chips. It can be hard to find a good protein flapjack, but this is a very tasty one.

An unusual flavour, but it just works! As with all of the Battle Bites bars, these are soft baked which makes them soft and chewy. Another must try for the protein bar lovers.

This cookies & cream flavour is a chocolate cookie with a cookies & cream flavour filling making it a very tasty convenient sweet treat.

If you hadn't already guessed it, salted caramel is one of our favourite flavours. This Fulfil salted caramel bar has been around for a while now but it still tastes just as good. A soft, silky salted caramel centre coated with milk chocolate and topped with layer of chunky crispies. You can even taste the salted caramel through the crispies that are layered on top of the bar.

Protein by mars couldn't make a Mars and M&M protein bar without making a Snickers one could they! This is the peanut butter version but they do the original snickers flavour as well, but we prefer the peanut butter once, hence why it made it on the top 20 list!

20. Mountain Joe's Millionaire White Chocolate Caramel
Now these have not been around for long but we had to get them added to the list of our take on the top 20 protein bars in the UK. Mountain Joe's have two protein millionaire flavours available, this one and the chocolate caramel one. Before we talk about how this tastes, it's important to note that these bars only have 11g protein. However we would choose this over most normal chocolate/sweet snacks, it is that good! A sweet crispy base topped with a layer of caramel followed by a delicious layer of white chocolate. This white chocolate protein millionaire bar by Mountain Joe's really is something special.
